Hi all
I'm new to the trike scene so will be asking a lot of dumb questions when the bike to trike conversion gets under way. Be patient with me, I'm a bear with very little brain.
Starting at the back and working forward (cart before the horse sort of thing) I managed to source a Reliant Rialto 'B' axle (2.78:1 ratio I believe) and now looking for Yam VX 1100 to mate with it.
Haven't really found my way round the site yet but shall be looking for info/ tips on (1) axle frame design (2) are the reliant drum brakes really not up to it and if not then which discs are best suited and how to fit them? (3) lots of other things no doubt.
All assistance will be much appreciated.

welcome aboard
nice to see an active builder
if you "fill out" your thoughts with a its similar to ....
we will all try and wander through your plans and offer any advice gleaned from past experiences
on a more serious level lots of answers with trikes land up being "um yes it should but!" answers regarding reliant brakes being a prime example
personal thoughts for "do they stop you" about reliant brakes run along the lines of "yes they should" but I'd personally opt for a twin disk front brake, gives that little extra just in case you're towing with a large passenger and small tent :lol or the other way around
as for frames weld them well! and make sure they are straight, cant twist, get the rake angle right ensure its far enough off the ground and you should do ok |
